Two individuals filed their candidacies today (Monday) to represent the 1st Ward on the Chillicothe City Council. Bobby D. Zimmer filed his candidacy for 1st Ward City Councilman at 9:15 a.m. today (Tuesday) at City Hall. Zimmer, 45, resides at 1001 Fair Street. He filed as a Democrat.

Also filing today for the 1st Ward council seat was Carol Sloan. She filed at 1 p.m. Sloan, 49, resides at 2102 Woodcrest Drive. She filed as a Republican.

With less than three hours before the close of the filing period Tuesday, Jerry L. Nibarger, 52, filed at 2:15 p.m. Nibarger, 2300 Fair Street, filed as a Republican.

Republican Marvin Holcer and Democrat Sid Cornell declared their candidacies for the position earlier in the filing period.

Three individuals filed for city offices after 4 p.m. Tuesday and before the candidate filing period closed at 5 p.m. They are: April Locke, 24, 602 Cowgill Street, for city clerk; Laieloni Knouse, 41, 1208 Locust Street, for city treasurer; and Wanda Urton, 46, 2007 Timber Lane, who filed for city auditor. The filing period for city offices concludes at 5 p.m. today.
