May 24, 2007 - If warm, sunny weather prevails, the Chillicothe Family Aquatic Center will open for the 2007 season on Monday, May 28.
The facility will open at 12:30 p.m. Monday if conditions meet the 70-70 rule, according to Parks and Recreation Director Ed Crawford. The 70-70 rule is 70 degree temperature both in the water and outside.
“Although we have had the pools filled for several days, we have not had much heating due to a lack of sun,” Crawford said. “But we feel we will hit that mark by
Monday.”

Despite rising costs in chemicals, Crawford noted, the admission prices will remain unchanged, however there will be some changes in the hours of operation.
Season pass prices will be $65 for an individual and $130 for a family up to four. Each additional family member can be added for $30 each. Punch passes are $35 for 15 admissions. “The season pass is good only for the person listed on the pass,” Crawford explained. “The punch pass is good for anyone.”
Daily admission prices are $3.75 for adults and $2.75 for students. Pre-school children are admitted free of charge with an adult admission. Groups of 10 or more can receive a discount of $2.50 per admission.
On Monday and Wednesday, the facility will be open from 12:30 to 8 p.m. Special pricing of $1 admission will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on those two nights. On Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the pool will operate from 12:30 to 6 p.m. The facility may be rented for private parties on those nights from 6 to 8 p.m. at a cost of $75 per hour. Two-week advance reservations are required for private parties for staffing purposes.
